Instagram is not LinkedIn!
There is a lot of talk about using Instagram for recruiting purposes. I think it’s a great idea. But realistically, you can’t use Instagram like it’s a LinkedIn In-Mail.
You have to get a little bit more engagement going. You have to get involved. Get yourself involved with a person’s post. Follow first. Don’t go in for the kill, don’t oversell like it’s an In-Mail– it’s isn’t the right medium for that type of attention.
Instagram isn’t LinkedIn. But if you treat it like it is, you’re going to ruin your approach and opportunity to connect if you do treat it like an In-Mail.
